The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is looking for an energetic and motivated person to perform administrative and support activities and supervise a group of support staff on the Human Resources and Development team. The successful candidate will have strong communication, planning and organizational skills, have a high personal standard of integrity, and demonstrate professional composure. Fulfillment of the job duties will play a vital role in helping DHHS fulfill its mission of Helping People Live Better Lives.
Examples of Work:
Responsible for event planning and marketing and coordinating events for the agency, such as the annual Employee/Supervisor of the Year awards and ceremony, Charitable Giving Campaign and Campaign Against Hunger among others. Provide administrative support to the Human Resources and Development Administrator as well as the HRD leadership team. Maintain the Administrator''s calendar, schedule meetings, prepare agendas, record/transcribe minutes and track members. Research and prepare reports and monitor and review all expenditures incurred by the unit. Monitor correspondence, collect information and write appropriate responses. Ensure office support is provided in a timely and accurate manner. Keep tracking logs and databases up-to-date. Maintain HR web page. Create, modify and maintain divisional filing and record keeping systems.
Qualifications / Requirements:
REQUIREMENTS: Experience in office management; or in developing and implementing work policies, processes, and procedures; or in monitoring and organizing program, administrative, or technical activities. OR Post high school coursework in: administration, management, accounting, finance, planning, policy analysis, administrative/management analysis, operations research, program evaluation, research, or similar fields.
PREFERRED: Bachelor''s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Marketing or a related field. Experience in office management, such as assisting in budget monitoring and coordinating special projects and events. Experience in preparing reports and correspondence, managing files, using Microsoft Word, Excel and SharePoint, researching/analyzing information and providing support to a top level Administrator. Experience working in Human Resources. Supervisory experience desired.
OTHER: Valid driver''s license or the ability to provide independent authorized transportation
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of: office management and record keeping methods and practices; human resources procedures and terminology; administrative report preparation practices; and federal and State laws and regulations governing work assigned. Ability to: interact with senior managers, employees, and the public to gain their cooperation and establish strong working relationships; be flexible and carry out several tasks at one time and still respond to priority issues that arise; be accurate, dependable, and meet deadlines; organize and present facts and opinions to managers and groups; work independently; thrive in a fast paced environment; and learn the structure, functions, goals, and policies of the employing agency. Skill in: attention to detail; priority setting; customer service; and effective communication.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
