We are seeking a 3D Lead II, who is essentially a 3D Generalist, having expertise in 3D modeling, rendering, and animation. As our 3D Lead II, you''ll work on innovative products with multi-disciplinary teams from concept to sales. You''ll have a strong understanding of Product Design and expert knowledge in running 3D modeling and/or simulation tools capable of creating polygonal concept models. Leveraging technology to create best-in-class product is a key objective. You''ll have a proven track record of contributing on high-level projects where teamwork and collaboration are required. You''ll be joining an extremely talented 3D Studio where learning and growth are constant. CREATION
Work with state of the art 3D digital design tools (including: modeling, simulation, 3D printing, textile, rendering, animation and imaging tools) applying them across the product creation process.
Digital Design - Utilize exceptional digital creation skills to enable the creation of original, innovative concepts and designs that appropriately reflect Nike's design philosophy and lead the industry.
Work with various internal, external resources to continually evaluate and test new tools and techniques.
Prototype Creation - Provide information and data necessary to develop product prototypes
PROCESS INNOVATION
Closely collaborate with 3D Lead counterparts and product creation teams to establish tool and process application consistency within and across product disciplines.
Anticipate, develop and utilize new technologies that bring innovation to Nike's digital design processes.
Create and present assets that effectively communicate digital creation tools and processes to a variety of audiences.
Identify key marketplace trends and develop recommendations to enhance Nike's organizational position.
MENTORING
Act as a digital tool and process mentor for product creation teams.
Provide technical expertise and tactical support to Innovation, Design, Development, Engineering and Asia Product Creation Center teams.
Skill Development - Work with design management and/or senior designers to actively gain experience, enhance digital design skills and increase knowledge of Nike's design philosophy, products and processes.
Designer Support -Actively provide digital design support for design staff as required to execute seasonal deliverables.
Set team and individual goals that align with departmental/functional goals. Provide digital learning opportunities for product creation teams.
LEADERSHIP
Lead digital creation process from ideation through sales.
Develop, manage, and operationalize short/long-term goals critical to digital evolution across design, development, engineering, and product management.
Work with development and engineering teams to leverage digital assets for commercialization and downstream purposes.
Process/Timeline - Manage digital design processes to ensure deliverables and timelines are met.
Skill Development - Maintain and continually expand upon expert knowledge of digital design tools.
Demonstrate an understanding of product development, engineering, manufacturing, and commercialization processes. 444311
Qualifications
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE
Proficient in 3D modeling and skills such as simulation, 3D printing, textiles, rendering, animation and image editing. Expert level skill using digital design applications (e.g. Maya, Rhino, Modo, Mudbox, ZBrush, Bunkspeed, Photoshop, Illustrator).
Clear understanding of product development processes and experienced in manufacturing processes.
Proficient in preparing data for 3D printing and experienced in creating conceptual prototypes.
Possess an in depth understanding of market trends and new technologies that may be used to enhance the digital creation process and lead the industry.
Ability to continually expand expert knowledge of digital creation tools and processes and stay current with industry digital creation innovations and standards.
EDUCATION
Four year Bachelor's Degree in an industry related field and 6 years continuous experience in related field preferred, or 10 years continuous experience in lieu of degree.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
