Assistant Cook DEFINITION: The individual in this position is responsible for the daily preparation of food items in the pantry, fry stations or other areas of the kitchen; assists in the preparation of meals by chopping vegetables, making salads, and putting together entrees; ensures that food stations are stocked adequately to complete food orders in a timely manner; maintains food at appropriate temperatures and complies with food handling practices; keeps work area clean.
