Role Mission:
The Child Nutrition Program Farm Supervisor works within the larger Healthy Kids Here (HKH) initiative and is dedicated in the mission to make IDEA Public Schools one of the healthiest school districts in the nation.
This role assists the CNP Farm Manager in all efforts focused on having a best in class farm education program while streamlining processes and finding efficiencies.
The Farm Supervisor directly supervises and supports the farmers outside of the Rio Grande Valley.
This role ensures the sustainability of the farm program through monitoring budget stewardship and grant management.
The Farm Supervisor conducts quarterly campus audits to confirm best inventory optimization and overall standard appearance, as well as adherence to state and federal guidelines in food safety protocol.
The Farm Supervisor provides support on location and consistent production monitoring to ensure successful harvests and growth.
The Farm Supervisor collaborates with the CNP Farm Manager to create and execute new curriculum and create educational team trainings.
This role leads organizational efforts to support our campus gardens across the district, and drives results for the goals set forth in making College for All a reality.

OF PRODUCE BY JUNE 30 Take corrective action when the goal is at risk of not being met Ensureall equipment, land, and buildings are maintained properlyat all farms Facilitateprofessional development sessionsfor the farm staff in the areas of vegetable production, agriculture education, and food safety Invite speakers & attend sustainable agriculture conferences to learn best practices from others in the industry and the region Support the development of the farm playbook CENTRAL TEXAS FARMS AVERAGE 90% RATING ON GOOD AGRICULTURE PRACTICES HARMONIZED AUDIT BY JUNE 30 Conduct USDA Good Agricultural Practices Food Safety Audits four times per year at all farms Ensure all individuals interacting with the farm are trained and aware of food safety protocols Confirm records and documentation are entered by the farmers in a timely manner and archived in a readily available manner for potential state audits Assist in the development of standard operating procedures for operations, material, and equipment Correct any findings from the audit that resulted in points lostCENTRAL TEXAS FARMS MEET THE COST PER SQUARE FOOT GOAL BY JUNE 30 Ensure proper procurement is being followed for the purchase of all farm material and equipment Monitor the farms financial performance on a weekly basis to identify cost reduction opportunities in the areas of payroll, supplies, and maintenance Coordinate with the Advancement team to write and submit public and private grant applications Conduct physical inventory for all materials and equipment on a quarterly basis Train staff members on different ways to minimize waste and maximize efficiency Createrequisitions and process purchase orders to ensuresupplies and materials needed to support the operation Host potential donorsand VIPs at our farmsand facilitate tours 100% OF PROGRAMMED FARMS ARE OPERATIONALLY READY WITH CROPS PLANTED, QUICK-START & PREP WEEK COMPLETED AND STAFF TRAINED ON FOOD SAFETY BEFORE THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL Review, approve and monitor yearly production plans for each farm Assess crops in the field, hydroponic columns, and nursery, and provide recommendations when needed for successful outcomes Approve completed Quick-Start & Prep Week schedules Provide guidance and training on food safety at the farm to CNP Farmers Conduct food safety and operations audits at all campuses Provide hands-on support as necessary in the region(s) Refine operational processes and tasks necessary for a successful school year Communicate relevant changes and updates to members of the Farm Team85% RETENTION OF CENTRAL TEXAS FARM STAFF BY JUNE 30TH Conduct weekly one-on-one coaching sessions with Farmers to assess progress towards goals Facilitate monthly trainings and yearly Summer Institute for farmers Lead direct reports through the annual staff development cycle Screens, interviews, hires, and onboards new team members outside of the Rio Grande Valley LIVE VALUES OF IDEA Believes and is committed to our missionand being an agent of change:

Compensation:
Salaries for this role typically fall between $51,946 and $61,816, commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications.
This role is also eligible for a performance bonus based on individual and organizational performance and goal attainment.
