Preparing, composing or reviewing correspondence for obtaining and/or supplying information. Composing general informational correspondence. Processing incoming and outgoing mail. Performing general mail handling and distribution. Arranges records for storage, disposition, retrieval or return. Performs general filing. Performing other related duties as assigned. Work Schedule:

GENERAL
Experience:
Have at least one (1) year of general experience that has equipped you with the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the duties of a Clerk, GS-04. Qualifying general experience includes:
composing general informational correspondence; processing incoming and outgoing mail; filing; receiving telephone calls; responding to customers inquiries; using computer systems for preparing documents. A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment. -OR- EDUCATION:
have successfully completed two (2) years of education above high school in any field for which high school graduation or equivalent is the normal prerequisite. One year of full-time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university, or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial, or technical school. This education must have been obtained at an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university NOTE:

Have an equivalent combination of successfully completed post-high school education and specialized experience, as described above, which meet the total qualification requirements for this grade level. NOTE:

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
