The Company Aflac The Location Atlanta, GA or Columbus, GA The Division Global Security/Security Operations The Opportunity Manager, Security Operations Center Job Summary Develop, support, and implement strategy for Information Security Operations Center (SOC) comprised of monitoring, detection, and incident response in a mulita-location environment.
This includes establishing business, people, technology and analytical processes for the SOC, developing the operating model, capturing key metrics and reporting to senior executives on the implementation and execution of the program and is accountable for the day to day incident workflow.
Will manage the Managed Security Service Provider relationship along with internal resources to ensure proper Use Cases are established and are accompanied by corresponding actionable Alert Response Procedures along with any other vendor relationships attributed to monitoring Aflac's security threat posture.
This role will serve as the final escalation point for Security Event Monitoring and Incident Response events and will work with a team consisting of other Incident Response and Forensic Analyst.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities Develops and measures career advancement goals, training and KPI's for Incident Response team Develops and matures core foundational Business, Technology, People and Analytical processes within a SOC/IR environment Manages Vendor relationships associated with Security Monitoring and/or Incident Response Defines, develops & implements Security Event Monitoring and Incident Response strategies & methodologies Leads or delegates speaker for Lessons Learned exercises or Incident debriefs Participates in various enterprise Information Security discussions and acts as primary representation of the SOC in customer facing interactions Confers with supporting teams (Governance, Legal, and etc.
) and management to address identified opportunities to enhance Aflac's information security posture Performs annual Monitoring and Incident Response maturity assessments Distributes monthly metrics to management Actively participate internally and externally with various members of the Information Security industry Ensures monitoring and response processes integrate into incident management process Performs other duties as required Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in computer science or information systems and seven to ten years of Information Security analyst/engineer experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Progressive experience working within a SOC environment (Monitoring, Triage, Escalations etc.
) Experience responding to active cyber-attacks based on NIST 800-61 R2 and ISO 2700# standards Proven experience in planning, organizing and developing the monitoring and incident response strategy Vendor Management Experience to include establishing and ensuring SLA/SLO levels are met Experience interfacing with pier support teams (Security Engineering, Threat Teams, Access Management, Legal, Governance and etc.
Experience with regulatory and compliance initiatives such as HIPPA, PCI and advanced knowledge associated with the protection of PII Knowledge of information security strategy, frameworks and international controls and regulations Job Knowledge & Skills Knowledge of implementing and integrating a SIEM strategy as an information security initiative Excellent writing skills, interviewing skills and a proficiency in using Microsoft products.
Possess a strong foundation in networking fundamentals with deeper knowledge of TCP/IP and other core protocols Familiarity with Windows and Linux command line environments Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal including ability to interact with a diverse group of individuals with varied levels of understanding and authority within customer institutions.
Knowledge associated with a Case Management system Strong knowledge of identifying enterprise threat landscape as well as anatomy of cyber-attacks methodology Familiarity with enterprise level information security best practices and security frameworks (i.
e.
Acceptable Use Policies and etc.
