Month Contract San Francisco, CA Job Description Our Client is looking for an experienced full-stack developer.
We're building technology that understands and structures the knowledge inherent in software and uses this knowledge to develop and maintain software systems.
We have the tools and data; we want you to help our users make sense of it.
We're looking for an experienced developer who is able to work on both our front-end and back-end, as needed, to build our platform.
Ideally, we would like a person who can both design and develop across the stack.
On the front-end, we demonstrate our proprietary technology using a browser built in JavaScript using three.
js and AngularJS libraries to build a 3D experience that walks an end user through a software application to quickly understand what it does without having to read all of its code.
Our platform also incorporates Natural Language to make the HCI experience more immersive and natural for the end user.
Strong graphics and visualization skills are needed for this part of the job as well as an intuitive feel for HCI design.
In addition, we use Java and Clojure to build microservices to communicate with our proprietary platform on the back-end and pass information to our front-end via JSON objects.
Part of the back-end services work is implementing NLP algorithms, so any AI experience is helpful, but not required.
Experience designing or building databases, especially with big data tools, is a plus as well.
Our ideal candidate would be able to understand system requirements, then produce and communicate designs for review with their teammates, and then implement these services with minimal guidance.
Though you would not need to lead a team, you would be able to mentor less-experienced developers and, in general, elevate the team's abilities in both HCI and microservices.
General Experience A degree and/or significant demonstrable experience including some combination of graphic design, computer science, and HCI.
Understanding of large-scale or enterprise systems.
Experience with Agile development process we are migrating towards a DevOps environment.
Experience with version control tools (we use Git) We need the right person creative, pragmatic, excited and productive.
Can you collaborate with the team to design & implement an interface that untangles complex data representations? Are you willing to do what it takes to collaborate with teammates to solve difficult problems? Can you pragmatically balance multiple design options to meet deliverable deadlines but not build in excessive technical debt? Are you interested in a small team environment where every teammate is critical and needs to wear multiple hats? Do you want to be on the ground floor of a start up with huge potential? Would you enjoy working & playing in a casual, but serious environment to achieve business goals? This position requires a design/coding test.
The coding test will be creating a visualization of a data set in any way that you think is useful and interesting.
Ideally, you will use Java, Python or JavaScript, but other libraries are welcome, as long as we can easily run them.
Check with us before you start if you'd like to use something else.
Please email us with your resume and a cover letter.
We'll reply with the full assignment and data set.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
