Program Coordinator (50% FTE, 2 Year Fixed Term)

The Center for Biomedical Ethics (SCBE) in the School of Medicine is dedicated to interdisciplinary research and education in biomedical ethics, and provides clinical and research ethics consultation. The Medicine and the Muse Program in Medical Humanities and the Arts is housed in the Center, and as such works collaboratively with the Center on the Scholarly Concentration, and independently on various programs, courses, conferences and projects.
The Medicine and the Muse Program in Medical Humanities and the Arts is seeking an energetic, organized, and self-motivated Program Coordinator to assist part-time (50% FTE) in the planning and execution of events, programs and classes. This is a two-year, fixed-term position; continuation based upon program needs and funding.
Duties include:
Schedule and attend committee meetings and take meeting minutes for distribution.
Schedule and support events in various venues around campus, including ordering food, attending events, greeting guests, distributing programs and managing photography needs.
Assist in all aspects of planning and implementing the 2018 Frankenstein@200 conference.
Assist with various office assignments, including copying and compiling booklets and brochures, and creating meeting agendas.
Maintain program website.

Qualifications:
Seeking an enthusiastic self-starter with an interest in medical humanities and the arts.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):
High school diploma and three years of administrative experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED):
Proficient computer skills and demonstrated experience with office software and email applications.
Demonstrated success in following through and completing routine tasks.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
Ability to prioritize and multi-task.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks.
Frequently sitting.
Occasionally stand/walk, reach/work above shoulders, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, grasp forcefully, use a telephone, sort/file paperwork or parts, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.
Rarely twist/bend/stoop/squat, kneel/crawl.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
