The Center for Excellence in Higher Education (CEHE) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah. CEHE operates degree-granting career colleges throughout the western United States and online. The college brands include Stevens-Henager Colleges in Utah and Idaho; CollegeAmerica in Colorado, Arizona, and Wyoming; California College San Diego, and Independence University (online platform). All of the colleges are accredited by ACCSC, a national accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. The colleges offer degree programs from the Associate's level through the Master's level in variety of disciplines including: Computer Science, Graphic Arts, Business/Accounting, Medical Specialties, Nursing, and Healthcare. CEHE is an at-will employer.
Director of Career Services
The Director of Career Services provides support to students in the job placement area. Work with employers to develop and fill leads with students. Counsel and motivate students in their efforts to secure employment.
Essential Functions:
Where appropriate, train and manage department members. Conduct performance reviews.
Build effective relationships with businesses and community partners to identify employment opportunities, and to promote the school's qualified graduates.
Achieve graduate employment results that are consistent with corporate objectives
Maintains student placement records in accordance with ACCSCT Standards of Accreditation
Monitors all post graduating students placement efforts
Maintains a job lead tracking system
Assists students with skills that will allow them be successful in their job search, including resume and letter writing, interviewing, and job search strategies
May teach the following course: CSS 299 Professional Development,
Works with President or Director to ensure quality placement and resolve all student complaints
Attends scheduled faculty and staff workshops and training in-services
Documents employment information on students into Diamond D College data system
Assist in organizing bi-annual Program Advisory Board Meetings.
As a member of the executive team, report and provide assistance on placement matters with other departments
Reports on the preparation
o Monthly operations reporting on placement data
o Weekly reporting on placement to management team
o Weekly Career Service conference calls
o Bi-weekly compliance conference calls
o Monthly retention meetings
Must be able to lift at least 20 pounds and stand for up to eight hours
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Proven performance in Placement area
Eligibility for teaching credential, to include Master's Bachelor's Degree or higher
Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, & Excel) and writing skills.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Must have excellent people skills and be detail oriented.
Ability to multi-task
Aptitude for solving problems with minimal supervision.
Measures of Merit:
TBD by supervisor within 90 days of hire.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
