Process Engineer

Are you a Chemical Engineer with a passion for process engineering? Our team in Jacksonville, Florida is excited to have you join the team! This is an entry level position, ideal for a recent graduate or someone with 1-2 years of process engineering experience. The Process Engineer will be involved in daily troubleshooting of process disruptions, equipment performance, and various other manufacturing processes. This position is responsible for coaching, mentoring and working closely with the plant leadership team. The Process Engineer will establish a strategic vision of plant process control and discipline while influencing the team and processes to align with the vision. Ongoing development of process understanding and future technology will also be a fundamental responsibility of the position. Monitoring and improving the quality of our products and the reliability of our equipment and processes will be a focus area. Responsibilities:
Maintain safety, product quality, and manufacturing effectiveness through daily troubleshooting and resolution of Process difficulties
Data analysis of process input parameters using SPC to control and establish
correlation of Key Process Input Variables (KPI's) to Key Process Output Variables
(KPOV's).
Train and develop employees on SOP's, JSA's, Manufacturing Specifications and testing to assure operational flexibility and responsiveness, and increase technical knowledge.
Support division product engineering and Plant Process Engineering on the development and execution of Trial Plans (TP's) and other continuous improvement projects throughout the manufacturing process.
Work with plant maintenance team to create predictive and preventative maintenance programs to ensure operating efficiency improvements for the process.
Performs all periodic safety and environmental audits.
Interacts with production to audit on-line testing process and report any deviations for immediate resolution.
Plans and directs systems and processes to ensure products produced meet or exceed established specifications: - quality manufacturing specifications. - raw material test methods - finished product test methods - certificate of analysis - deviation requests
Participate in the continuous improvement of product quality, which will include a firm understanding of customer, manufacturing process capability, and development of semi-finish and finish product specifications.
Advise plant management in potential application of new advances and/or modifications to existing plant facilities.
Lead modifications to systems and procedures.
Implement process related capital projects.
Responsible for product quality.
Ensure that no products leave the plant that fails to meet specification.
Supervises Quality Supervisor and lab operations.
Lead the development and delivery of process understanding initiatives
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering
0-2 years of process engineering experience
Experience with process and product quality initiatives
Experience executing process optimization utilizing data driven methodologies initiatives (i.e. Six Sigma, RCCA)
Leadership skills (to include coaching/mentoring others within the plant, relationship skills and/or ability to communicate cross functionally)
Experience with documenting process improvements, projects job safety analysis, root cause analysis, corrective actions and complete weekly, monthly reports)
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
Ability to wear many hats and help wherever needed
Ability to climb stairs & ladders, lift up to 50lbs, access confined spaces, extensive walking and exposure to hot/cold
Ability to work after hours as needed
Ability to be on call
Ability to travel up to 15% (Domestic)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience with Minitab
High Intellectual Capacity and Tenacity
Demonstrated passion for continuous improvement with ability to analyze data and translate .findings for operational improvements - including SPC
Ability to plan, organize and execute projects
Demonstrated ability to build and achieve results through collaborative relationships
Experience in training and imparting technical process requirements/knowledge to employees
Experience with maintaining quality systems
Equipment reliability experience
Communication skills (verbal and written)

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
