Adjunct Professor - Visual Communications/Graphic Arts/Printing

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS:
Adjunct faculty teach department courses on a part-time basis and evaluate student performance pursuant to guidelines set by the department and the College. Adjunct faculty report to the Department Chair of their discipline. Adjunct faculty are responsible for preparing lesson plans, teaching aids, and instructional materials or activities for class. Adjunct faculty must maintain accurate records on students and submit pertinent data to the department and/or the College.
TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES:
Demonstrates appropriate knowledge of subject;
Provides students with appropriate learning materials and expertise in assigned subject(s);
Prepares course syllabi and outcomes;
Encourages student participation;
Provides students with appropriate learning materials and expertise in assigned subject(s);
Evaluates students' performance based on course learning outcomes;
Establishes and maintains an organized and disciplined classroom environment;
Is responsive to students and provides students with assistance and guidance;
Responsible for contributing to and maintaining an inclusive and collaborative College environment;
Adheres to all College, Department as well as applicable County policies.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Candidates must be able to demonstrate awareness and sensitivity towards promoting an inclusive and diverse learning environment.
PUBLISHING: Good knowledge of graphic design and layout applications including Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, QuarkXPress; must be familiar with the Macintosh computer platform; fundamentals of layout and design, typography, color, and proofing are emphasized.
IMAGING: Good knowledge of graphics software applications including Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, QuarkXPress, Photoshop; must be familiar with the Macintosh computer platform; must possess knowledge of digital halftones, preflighting, trapping, and color correction procedures as well as possess computer to plate output skills.
PRESSROOM: Good knowledge in the operation of offset duplicator and sheet fed presses; must be familiar with platemaking and basic bindery equipment.
MINIMUM
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree with five years experience in Graphic Arts/Printing field, or equivalent combination of educational requirements and work experience as stated above.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
