Recently expanded, the Pressure Regulation Engineering (PRE) Department provides consistent, risk-based asset management of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) assets in addition to managing assets for 1,800 Pressure Regulating stations. Our team culture is self-directed and empowered. PRE team members have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, interacting broadly with various internal stakeholders. PRE develops long and short term investment plans for LNG, CNG and Pressure Regulation assets, providing an energy asset roadmap towards a reliable and sustainable future.


About the Position:


This position creates the strategy and delivers the documentation for National Grid's records for transmission connected regulating stations. It also creates the capital program for replacing undocumented piping as well as component analysis and testing to ensure that National Grids stations operating at transmission pressure meet the PHMSA guidelines for safe and reliable operation of transmission assets. This position develops the IMP (Integrity Management) program in accordance with Federal and State rules and regulations.


Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to):


- Make informed, authoritative technical asset plans for maintenance and capital investment in support of the Pressure Regulation IMP program


- Translate IMP program requirements into clearly defined business cases, and budgets.


- Direct and deliver a range of engineering services, and solutions to enable capital improvements to mitigate system integrity damage or substandard conditions and meet the required standards of maintenance and construction.


Qualifications

Knowledge & Experience Required:


- Demonstrates the ability to interpret codes, regulations and solve problems using a mixture of in-house and external resources.


- Demonstrated ability to develop cost estimates in harmony with the estimating personnel at National Grid.


- A Bachelors degree in an Engineering discipline or Materials Science


- A Professional Engineering (PE) License is desirable but applicants who have passed the Fundamentals Exam (FE) will be considered


- Previous experience in working with design drawings and various material specifications


- Knowledge of welding processes


- Ability to work with Non Destructive Examination personnel, construction personnel, and Engineering Consultants


- Advance degree and/or certification a plus.
