We are currently seeking to add to our impressive group of talented associates. We have positions available at our Mill located in Canton, NC. Established in 1908, the Canton Mill rests in a valley in the Western part of the state, about 18 miles past Asheville toward the Tennessee state line, where the state angles down to a thin wedge on the map. As one of the largest industrial employers in Western North Carolina, Evergreen Packaging's Canton and Waynesville operations have sustained the local economy and generations of families from surrounding towns and counties for over one hundred years.

Manage hourly workforce to meet safety, environmental, production, quality and cost goals of #20 Department:
Responsible for on shift operations of #20 department including safety, productivity, quality and reliability
Enter work requests when needed
Act as a liaison between quality needs of our customers and operator level decisions
Responsible for employee relations.
Provide coaching and development to hourly employees. Help to resolve employee issues.
Ensure employees are properly trained and have tools needed to perform job.
Ensure all employees adhere to safety policies and procedures.
Work with other departments and direct reports.
Additional duties as assigned.
Special Knowledge Skills:
Demonstrate ability to lead people
Supervisory skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Knowledge of business and operation
Organizations skills
Ability to manage several tasks simultaneously
Prior knowledge of operation
Good understanding of Fourdrinier paper making
Prior work in union environment
Qualifications:
BS degree in either Chemical Engineering, Pulp & Paper, Mechanical Engineering
Minimum 3-5 years paper mill experience
