Title: Unit Secretary Location: AK-Palmer (Anchorage region) Job Number: 1544268 Provides clerical and non-nursing support to the nursing services in the Family Birthing Center at Mat-Su Regional Medical Center. Facilitates the processes of the department to promote intra and interdepartmental coordination to enhance medical provider and staff performance. Practices and promotes customer service for both internal and external customers using AIDET skills. Performs inpatient and outpatient registrations, including validation of necessary demographic information and collection of insurance information in conjunction with EMTALA requirements. Follows corporate compliance and HIPAA standards for all patient and employee personal information. Processes medical provider orders, medication administration record transcription, chart assembly and medical record filing. Responds to the nurse call system, Code Pink, Code Blue, OB STAT, fire, gas, and security and clinical alarms, as delineated under unit specific duties. Facilitates reporting of critical values for tests and treatments to appropriate RNs. Courteously responds to and directs visitors using AIDET skills. Assists with preparation for transports, ordering paper supplies and duties as delineated.
Qualifications: Education: High school graduate or equivalent required.
Experience: One year experience in an acute care health care setting as a ward clerk, nurse's assistant, receptionist or similar position preferred. Documented clerical skills, including computer keyboarding of at least 35 wpm, accurate filing, and proficiency in telephone/reception duties required. Experience with medical terminology required. Health Unit Coordinator certification preferred. Job: Clerical SupportEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
