Oracle DBA Skills and Qualifications
o Computer Science or Business degree or equivalent working experience.
o 7-10 years' experience in the Information Technology field with a minimum of 5 years' experience specifically supporting Oracle Databases.
o Oracle 10g/11g experience required, 12c experience a plus.
o Oracle DBA certification preferred.
o Oracle EM experience.
o Build/upgrade and tune Oracle databases.
o Oracle patching experience.
o Backup and restore databases as appropriate.
o Tune and resolve database performance problems.
o Effectively manage and monitor all aspects of RDBMS environments (development, test, and production).
o Operate in a UNIX environment and is proficient in writing and maintaining shell scripts.
o Develop/maintain PL/SQL packages, procedures, and functions.
o Working knowledge of SQL, SQL Plus, Datapump and PL/SQL.
o Oracle Real Application Cluster and failover experience.
o Demonstrated experience with Oracle performance tuning tools, including AWR and other Oracle Enterprise Manager tuning tools.
o Excellent communication skills and works well with diverse teams or independently.
o Experience with the full project lifecycle from conception to implementation & support.
o Self-starter with excellent organization, planning, documentation and time management skills
o Ability to analyze business cases, extract requirements and understand business needs.
o Proficiency with meta data, data modeling and data quality tools an asset.
o Understands client related data and data management best practices.
o Experience with multi-platform and multi-system integration.
Oracle Application DBA Responsibilities
o Direct and expedient involvement with service restoration from database related system outages and slowdowns.
o Participation in root cause analysis and development of countermeasures for serious database related incidents.
o Proactive monitoring and performance analysis of production databases.
o Development and enhancement of database monitoring and housekeeping utilities as required.
o Direct Application development team engagement and consulting including analyzing and executing deployment scripts, designing and maintaining application database objects per application requirements, managing partitions, and performing proactive SQL tuning.
o Management of authorizations and access rights for the application user base.
o Collaboration with infrastructure DBA team to ensure stable environment.
o Support of data recovery and restores as related to specific applications.
o Tune and resolve database performance problems.
o Effectively manage and monitor all pertinent aspects of RDBMS environments (development, test, and production).
o Any other database administration services that are necessary or related to the performance of the above listed services and administration of the databases.
Position Summary
Minimum of 5 years of experience working as an Oracle Database Administrator in a production environment. Excellent performance tuning skills for tuning critical databases and jobs. Proactively prevent database issues by closely monitoring the databases on a regular basis and implementing the tools and procedures required to maintain a very stable environment. Responsible for administering, analyzing, recommending, designing, developing, enhancing and supporting data structures and data processes required to meet business objectives. Contributes considerable business and technical knowledge to complex IT projects. Work must be performed at client site in Portland, Oregon.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
