Automotive Signal Processing Engineer


Lumenance is seeking a degreed Mechanical or Electrical Engineer for a contract position as a Signal Processing Engineer. The job responsibilities are related signal analysis relating to acoustic characterization and noise cancellation for passenger vehicles.
Primary Duties
Application of vibration fundamentals, acoustic fundamentals, and signal analysis to research and develop active noise reduction solutions for passenger vehicles
Application of statistical signal processing:
adaptive filtering, detection, estimation, stochastic processes
Full vehicle and component dyno testing for drivetrain noise and vibrations.
Managing one's schedule for all assignments. Includes tracking of project schedule and working overtime as needed to meet deadlines.
Tracking the cost of assigned projects and systems
Reporting findings to stake holders (management, engineers, manufacturing, purchasing)
Able to independently identify improvement opportunities and take independent action that furthers the team's overall technical objectives
As requested, investigating new technology and industry trends that will evolve into improved or new products
Minimum Qualifications
4 year engineering degree (Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, Mechatronic, Electromechanical, or similar)
NV measurement and data analysis experience is required. Preferably experience with transmission and drivetrain noise and vibration.
Excellent verbal and written English skills
Knowledge in vibration fundamentals, acoustic fundamentals, and signal analysis using LMS hardware/software tools, accelerometers, and microphones is also preferable.
Knowledge of noise cancelation techniques utilized in the transportation industry
Able to design experiments relevant to the subject matter
Able to perform complex statistical analysis in the context of the subject matter
Must be able to solve engineering problems independently and take initiative in supporting overall development team's assignments
Ability to manage one's assignments and meet critical deadlines
Ability to collaborate with other engineers to address development requirements and issues
