Under general supervision of Office of System Support Director and the general direction of the lead worker of the Server Administration Section, this position is responsible for the installation and administration of agency-wide server applications and infrastructure.
This positions installs, maintains, researches, and designs agency-wide, primarily Windows based, servers and server applications. It provides technical support to development team staff, help desk staff and operations. The position is responsible for research and testing server application software and hardware, and ensures continuous availability and peak performance of server infrastructure. The position will have lead technical responsibility for several purchased applications and applications developed in-house, and will train co-workers to help support these systems. Responsibilities of this position includes; a high level of knowledge designing, installing and supporting enterprise- type Windows based server applications; effectively interact with team members, vendors and other IT professionals, and users of IT systems; to be able to produce written and verbal English language instructions or other communications or user of IT, operations staff, development staff, vendor support staff, and management; and be able to understand written and verbal English language documentation, requirement statements, problem description and other forms of communication for interaction with the people mentioned above. A person must be able to work in an office setting utilizing a computer for extended periods of time (75-90% of work hours). This position requires participation in a revolving rotation for after-hours support of hardware and systems. May travel minimally throughout the state.
Additional Requirement:
This position involves working with information on identity; any applicant selected for employment is required to pass a background check as required by the REAL ID act of 2005. The background check shall include the validation of references from prior employment, a name-based and finger-print based criminal history records check and employment verification otherwise required by law.

Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited college or university and experience equal to two years of full-time work:
operating a multi-job computer; installing, operating and coordinating computer based networks; installing/maintaining database management systems; developing business application processes; developing/operating system programs; installing/maintaining personal computers, Local Area Networks and/or servers; managing operating systems; developing/ delivering information management training; providing Information Technology (IT) customer service; or designing/ administering Internet sites. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
