Location This position is located in Coronado, San Diego County Hours Day shift position - variable start/stop times including every other weekendRequired Skills and Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent Satisfactory completion of 36 hours of training in a course designed specifically for this position and approved by the California Department of Health Service Two (2) years' current experience in a social or recreational program within the last five years One (1) year experience in a patient activities program in a health care setting Current BLS certification for Healthcare Providers Experience as one of the following:
Occupational Therapist, Art Therapist, Music Therapist, Dance Therapist, Recreational Therapist.
Recreation Assistants/Occupational Therapy Assistants may be considered with requisite electoral preparation in the area of specialty Experience with coaching and counseling staff Strong presentation and organizational skills Strong computer skills Preferred Skills and Qualifications College degree in recreation preferred Summary The Activity Director of Long Term Care is responsible for the development, coordination, and implementation of therapeutic activities /recreational program which will, on a daily basis, meet the needs and interests of the residents in the Villa, Transitional Care and Sub-acute Units.
The Sharp Villa Coronado Skilled Nursing Facility and Sharp Coronado Sub-Acute Units provide long-term care to patients in San Diego.
They have four levels of care:
custodial, transitional, sub-acute and hospice.
Individualized care plans are developed for each patient, and nursing care is focused on the patient's health and social, emotional and spiritual well-being.
Treatment plans are designed to help each patient achieve maximum independence and dignity.
Personalized programs and services bring comfort to patients in a homelike environment.
All long-term care patients have access to clinical services including:
24-hour licensed nursing care, enteral therapy, integrative therapies including Healing Touch and aromatherapy, intravenous therapy, medication management, pain management, physician, podiatrist and dental visits.
