Seasonal Security Guards Needed! $11-$12/hr
DESCRIPTION:
SSC, Inc. is currently recruiting for summertime security guards in the Westbrook, CT area. Full time and Part time positions now available paying between $11 - $12/hr (mainly during the weekends.)
Applicants must be able to work the 3 summer holidays and their respective weekends: Memorial Day, Fourth of July & Labor Day.
Qualifications:
o High school diploma or GED equivalent
o 18 years of age or older
o Possession of CT State Guard Card a plus but are willing to train the right candidate. Must be able to pass any State-required training or other qualifications for licensing
o Be able to pass a drug screen
o Successfully pass a background check that includes personal references, criminal history, employment & education verification, DMV check and credit check if applicable
o Have access to reliable transportation

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
o Must display exceptional customer service and communication skills
o Must be able to walk extended distances without difficulty
o Be computer proficient
o Read, understand and clearly speak English; constantly use speech and hearing in communicating with the public and co-workers, giving and receiving instructions
o Possibility of working in various environments including adverse outdoor conditions such as cold, rain or heat
o Constant mental alertness and attention to detail required
o Must possess effective written and communication and interpersonal skills with ability to deal with all types and levels of personnel and the general public in a professional and effective manner; must be able to use initiative and independent judgment within established guidelines
o Must be able to frequently prepare written reports and logs in neat, legible handwriting; may require computer skills
o Must be able to read and understand all operating procedures and instructions
o Active listening skills
o High attention to detail
POSITION DUTIES:
o Able to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors
o Access control
o Inventory control
o Customer service
o Security patrols by foot and/or vehicle
o Completion of daily security reports, incident reports, security logs, etc.
o Critical incident response such as medical, fire, workplace violence, accident, etc.
o Enforcement of safety regulations
o Other duties assigned and required by site contract
