Quality Performance Specialist - Ancillary Services - Non - RN

DEFINITION:
The Quality Performance Specialist acts as a resource to the ancillary services, (Respiratory Therapy, Radiology, Laboratory, etc.
) to ensure that performance and compliance issues are being appropriately evaluated, investigated and resolved.
The Quality Performance Specialist will provide oversight and hands on support to ensure evidence-based practices in care delivery, patient safety and standards compliance are implemented and sustained, to include concurrent patient review, policy review & development, education & training, and monitoring & auditing.
The QPS will facilitate performance improvement and corrective action to ensure key metric performance targets are met, including compliance with the Medicare Conditions of Participation and Title 22.
The QPS may engage in multi-disciplinary clinical teams with the Registered Nurse QPS if the process content so indicates.
KNOWLEDGE:
Expert knowledge in area of ancillary services Knowledge of performance improvement and/or regulatory standards (including TJC, CMS and State Title 22 licensure) in an acute care hospital and outpatient setting strongly preferred.
SKILLS:
Ability to work with individuals and with groups or teams to effect change, Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills with strong sense of professionalism.
Ability to identify, analyze and prioritize problems for resolution.
Ability to use various computer programs for data entry, reporting, analysis, and presentation
Experience:
Bachelor of Science in a healthcare related field preferred and a current license, registry or certificate in a healthcare related field such as but not limited to Respiratory Therapy, Medical Technology, Radiology Technology etc.
; 4 years' experience in applicable in ancillary services both in an acute care hospital setting and outpatient setting required.
Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) or Certified Hospital Compliance Officer (CHC) preferred.
LICENSE:
Current California clinical license, certificate or registry, (depending on area of specialization),California Clinical License, Certificate, or Registry required within six months of hire.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
