SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the VP Finance and Director of General Accounting or Subsidiary Accounting Manager, the Staff Accountant II primarily performs accounting functions for all divisions and subsidiaries of the company in accordance with established procedures. They are occasionally called upon for other duties including data entry, procedure development, audit compliance, and other special projects within the Accounting Department.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and the necessary supporting schedules and account reconciliations for all branches and subsidiaries. This duty includes the preparation/calculation of specific assigned journal entries, subsidiary cost of goods sold revaluation, maintenance of fixed asset ledger, as well as the monthly balancing of intercompany payable and receivable accounts.
B. Bi-monthly review of accounts payable general ledger coding, for appropriate expense classification.
C. Prepare supporting information for required governmental filings, as needed, inclusive of monthly and quarterly filings required for each foreign subsidiary.
D. Assist with external audit(s) through record retrieval and process demonstration for auditors. Also assist with annual or semi-annual inventory counts.
E. Assist Senior Accountant and Cost Accountant as needed.
F. Other finance responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
A minimum of two years previous accounting experience required. Office/accounting procedures and computer skills including, intermediate Excel, required. Time management and organizational skills essential.
EDUCATION
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required.
