Summary: The UNIX/Linux Administrator will be responsible for advanced administration across multiple Unix-based (Linux/FreeBSD) OS platforms, virtualization and storage infrastructure. In this role, the administrator will gather requirements and provide direction and design insight for new Systems Infrastructure projects in addition to day-to-day activities and must be capable of operating under minimal guidance. Regular collaboration with a broad variety of business teams both outside of and within the IT organization will be necessary. This administrator will provide mentoring and support to fellow team members. Day to day responsibilities will include system infrastructure selection, inventory, configuration, monitoring, trending and security compliance.
This position has rotating & escalation on-call and minimal travel requirements.
KEY TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
o Install and connect x86 systems and related infrastructure hardware in a datacenter environment.
o Monitor, enhance and maintain VMware vSphere technologies including vCenter Server, vCO, VCOPS, Patch Manager and related Enterprise Plus feature sets.
o Maintain storage environments across multiple points of presence including DAS, SAN and NAS technologies.
o Monitor, analyze and tune systems for optimal uptime and performance.
o Deploy security and other pertinent system patches on a regular basis.
o Monitor and enforce system and security policies, ensuring industry compliance requirements are met.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
o Management and maintenance of Ubuntu/Red Hat Linux/FreeBSD based operating systems.
o Design, deployment and management of VMware vSphere infrastructure.
o NAS and SAN storage administration (FCP, iSCSI and NFS protocols).
o NetApp storage systems hardware and Data ONTAP administration experience.
o Administration of centralized authentication technologies (Kerberos, two-factor, and pre-shared keys).
o Open Source application and environment installation, configuration and maintenance.
o Use of configuration management tools (Puppet, SaltStack or equivalent).
o Use of version control systems (Git or SVN preferred).
o Java and Apache Tomcat installation and maintenance experience.
o MySQL and PostgreSQL database sizing, installation and tuning.
o Must be able to write, modify and debug shell scripts.
o Must be able to communicate effectively with stakeholders in the development life cycle.
o Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills are required (software and hardware).
o Must have good verbal, written and organizational skills, including strong time management capabilities.
o Previous ticketing system experience and familiarity with project management methodologies.
o Experience maintaining highly available systems infrastructure across multiple production datacenters with minimum to no downtime is a must.
o Former experience in a PCI (Payment Card Industry) or similar compliance environment.
o Must have the ability to work in a team environment yet be self-directed, proactive, and action-oriented.
o 4
years experience as a system administrator.
ADDITIONAL SKILL SETS DESIRED:
o ZFS or ZFS based storage system setup and administration.
o Docker or similar containment environment setup and configuration or usage (vanilla LXC, FreeBSD jails, Solaris Zones, etc.).
o Orchestrated system provisioning and configuration.
o Central log management, analysis and reporting experience through the use Splunk, ELK or related technologies.
o Previous participation in an environment practicing Agile Methodologies is a plus.
o Comfort installing and maintaining Mac OS X and Microsoft Windows operating system environments.
o Experience interfacing with Juniper networking equipment.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
