MEDICAL SOCIAL WORKER, SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, FULL TIME
POSITION SUMMARY
This position provides Social Service interventions and assists with discharge planning for patients in the medical units utilizing established standards and practice, ensuring safe and effective intervention. Intervention is based on the ages of the population served; Newborn through Geriatric - 65 years or older. Assesses, plans, intervenes and evaluates intervention in collaboration with the multidisciplinary care team. Demonstrates the knowledge and skill necessary to identify and meet the individualized needs of all patients served in the medical units. Interfaces with public and community agencies identified as potential resources for patients upon discharge.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education
Current LCSW
Current CPR/BLS certification by the American Heart Association (BLS for the Healthcare Provider) or ability to obtain prior to start date
Masters in Social Work from a program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education
Minimum Experience
Previous experience as a clinical social worker
Previous computer experience and data base management preferred.
In compliance with patient safety standards, must be able to effectively communicate in English; Bilingual abilities preferred

Subject to pressure due to irregular hours, frequent interruptions and stressful situations due to multiple demandsEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
