Nelson is seeking a contract-to-hire Senior Buyer for a client in the Irrigation industry located in North County San Diego.
This position reports to the Materials Manager and is responsible for the planning and purchasing of materials in a timely manner while adhering to the company's established policies and objectives.
Senior Buyer Essential duties:
o Securing and analyzing quotes; negotiating pricing and terms with suppliers o Source new and existing products o Review bids and proposals o Planning and forecasting inventory based on PY stats, inventory on hand and open PO's o Review and prepare PO's o Evaluate and implement cost cutting solutions for existing products without compromising quality o Track international freight o Coordinate activity between company and suppliers Senior Buyer
Qualifications:
o Excellent written and verbal communication skills o Proficient in Microsoft Excel - must be able to build and manipulate spreadsheets o BA or BS in Business, Materials Management, Logistics, or Supply Chain preferred o 4
