Construction Payroll Administrator

Methuen Construction is currently seeking an experienced Construction Payroll Administrator to join our team.
Construction Payroll Administrators are responsible for ensuring accurate and efficient processing of all payroll-related documentation. The Construction Payroll Administrator will receive, verify and process all Teammate information used to update the payroll and timekeeping systems. The Construction Payroll Administrator is required to use his/her independent judgment to determine consistency and completeness of each Teammate's pay record. The Construction Payroll Administrator must also use his/her own discretion to prioritize tasks in order to adhere to predetermined deadlines and tight time constraints.
Job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
o Collect and enter weekly timecards into Timberline Accounting System
o Review and process weekly payroll including printing checks
o Uploading weekly direct deposit to bank
o Submitting weekly payroll tax deposits
o Uploading weekly 401k Plan payroll deductions
o Distribute weekly payroll checks
o Process weekly equipment charges through payroll
o Setting up all trade classifications and pay rates for certified payroll jobs and updating all trade pay rates as the prevailing wages increase.
o Maintain and administer Vacation and Sick Time accrual and balances
o Respond to Employment Verifications
o E-verify new employee
o Set up new employee in Timberline
o New hire reporting
o Respond to unemployment claim notices
o Prepare weekly certified payrolls for multiple divisions in multiple states
o Review and maintain subcontractors certified payroll for compliance
o Log all certified payrolls by week ending date, classification and hours
o Submit certified payrolls to the awarding authority weekly
o Using Job Cost to enter the Project Managers and Engineers Labor to Projects
o Backup for any miscellaneous Direct Job Cost entries
o Run weekly reports and make any necessary adjustments
o Provide reports to HR for compliance reporting
o Backup for the Benefits/HR Administrator
The qualified candidate shall possess the following skills and knowledge:
o Associate Degree in Business Administration/Finance required
o 2-5 years of construction payroll experience, performing all payroll functions
o Experience with Timberline and Crystal Reporting
o Experience with HH2 strongly desired
o Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and Internet Explorer
o Strong skills using and understanding the flow of transactions in an integrated and automated payroll accounting system
o Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion
o Excellent problem solving/judgment skills, and high level of attention to detail and accuracy
o Strong organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure
o Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines
o Attention to Company Policies: Follow all Company Policies/Procedures regarding security, harassment-free environment, compliance to Code of Ethics and Business Conduct
