Job Purpose:
Maintains safe and secure environment for clients, customers and employees by patrolling and monitoring premises. Requests law enforcement and/or action of appropriate individual(s) when necessary.
Security Officer Job Duties:
o Deal with individuals cautiously and professionally.
o Present legible written reports.
o Follow instructions.
o Deal tactfully/diplomatically with clients, NGS management and co-workers.
o Adhere to policies and procedures.
o Take initiative.
o Exhibit positive attitude.
o Communicate efficiently.
o Secure premises and personnel by patrolling property.
o Obtain help by calling law enforcement.
o Prevent losses and damages by reporting abnormalities and suspicious activity.
o Inform violators of policies/procedures correct policies/procedures, and consequences law enforcement should they fail to comply.
o Report disturbances, and trespassers to law enforcement.
o Complete reports by documenting observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities; interviewing witnesses when necessary.
o Maintains organization's stability and reputation by complying with legal requirements.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
