Imbuesys, Inc. is seeking junior-level Database Administrators who will be responsible for assisting with database performance, integrity and security. The Database Administrator I will utilize standard knowledge of database management systems, including knowledge of, and experience with, database administration tools and technologies, to assist with the administration, testing and implementation of database management systems. Working under close supervision of the Project Manager, the Database Administrator I will perform the following duties: Assist in database planning, development and troubleshooting. Under close supervision, install, configure, and administer databases. Participate in the upgrade of current databases to latest versions and apply patches to existing databases. Assist project team members in implementing security measures to safeguard information in computer files against accidental or unauthorized damage, modification or disclosure. Write and code logical and physical database descriptions and specify identifiers of database to management system. Under direction from senior-level team members, specify users and user access levels for each database segment and perform database backup and restoration. Review project requests describing database user needs to estimate time and cost required to accomplish project.
Comply with standards and guidelines to guide the use and acquisition of software and to protect vulnerable information. May perform other duties normally associated with this occupation.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Technology or related major that provided the skills, knowledge, and abilities required and 6 months of experience in the job offered or in a related position that provided the required skills, knowledge and abilities. Employer will accept a 3- or 4-year Bachelor's degree. Employer will accept a foreign degree.
Also requires demonstrable experience with at least one of the following: Informatica, Oracle, or SQL. No travel or telecommuting. Position is project-based at various unanticipated work sites within the U.S., and relocation may be required at the end of each long-term project. Any suitable combination of education, training or experience is acceptable. The term suitable, in this context, means substantial compatibility with stated academic level and job experience requirements and ability to perform job duties.
