The Emergency Department at the VA Medical Center in Lake City, FL is seeking physicians that want to serve our veterans.

o Abdominal and gastrointestinal disorderso Administrative aspects of emergency medicineo Cardiovascular disorderso Disorders due to chemical and environmental agentso Emergency cardiopulmonary and traumatic resuscitationo Hormonal, metabolic, and nutritional disorderso Musculoskeletal disorderso Psychobehavioral disorderso Thoracic-respiratory disorders The following are expected skills/procedures:
o Arterial cannulation for monitoringo Bladder catheterizationo Central venous accesso Emergency cardiac pacingo Epistaxis controlo Incision and drainage of abscesso Laceration/wound management and repairo Nasogastric and or gastric intubationo Regional nerve blocko Splint/reduce fractures and dislocations Tour of Duty:
Full-Time; Monday-Friday; 7:
30am-4:
00pm (Physicians are responsible for working various tours as needed for a 40 hour work week.
The ED is a 24/7 operation and there are varying morning, afternoon, and evening shifts 7 days a week.
Shift distribution is baed on peak loads and departmental needs.
) PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Physical requirements for this position include moderate lifting (14-44 lbs.
); light lifting (under 15 lbs.
); straight pulling (.
5 hour); reaching above shoulders; use of fingers, both hands required; walking (1 hour intermittently); standing (2 hours intermittently); ability to distinguish colors and shades of color; ability for rapid mental and muscular coordination simultaneously; near vision correctable to 13 to 16; hearing (aid permitted).
