Head of Manufacturing
Responsible as an executive site team member.
Provides leadership and direction for approximately 800 employees
Achieving site objectives by working together with Quality Assurance, Technical Support, Engineering, HR to improve efficiencies by streamlining processes and building systems in all appropriate work centers.
Ensures maximum throughput of product in accordance with the schedule while adhering to cGMP, and FDA requirements, established SOP's, and all applicable safety requirements.
Accountable for the daily operation of the 300,000 square foot manufacturing and packaging plant in accordance with product quality, team building, safety, budgetary, and requirements.
Ensures that all manufacturing personnel have systems to be properly trained on current work instructions, SOP's, general cGMP's, and safety.
Performs capacity planning on an ongoing basis to assure current and future department capacity. Planning consists of short-term bottle neck elimination and long term strategic capital investment. Budgets and controls direct controllable cost of about $10 million annually.
Coordinates and executes production plan within supply chain system.
Qualification Level:
BS degree in Production Management or Engineering related field. Masters or MBA preferred.
Candidate should have at least 10 years of experience in an increasing leadership role in a cGMP) manufacturing environment. Experience in non wovens is desired.
Must possess strong team leadership skills to lead, direct, and develop both plant and technical staff personnel.
Strong track record of mentoring and developing leaders.
Possess a superior capability to engage technically and to influence cross-functionally as a part of the site leadership team.
Must possess advanced skills in problem analysis and problem solving in a manufacturing environment, such as situational analysis, LEAN Manufacturing, and quick decision-making.
The successful candidate will have excellent managerial and communication skills, including experience in partnering with Human Resources, Engineering, Quality, and Safety.
Must possess good computer skills and knowledgeable of software applications such as JDED, Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
