Senior Staff Accountant- Spirit Lake, IA

Doherty Career Solutions has teamed with a leading food production plant to hire a Sr. Staff Accountant. This person will have full general ledger accountability, prepare budgets and forecasts, and lead the month end close.

Direct Hire opportunity; relocation assistance on a case-by-case basis

Duties:

Full accountability for General Ledger
Responsible for the training and development of corporate staff accountants
Leadership role on tax and tax strategy in coordination with third party partners with tax expertise
Leadership role on annual audit in cooperation with third party auditors
Timely and materially accurate month end close in accordance with GAAP, including coordination with offsite process owners
Financial reporting and analysis modeled appropriately for intended audience (ie executive summary)
Compilation, review and approval of well supported journal entries
Compilation, review and approval of account reconciliations/account lead sheets
Maintain standard operating procedures
Annual operating plan
Financial partnership on forecast, key initiatives and continuous improvement
Take appropriate action to ensure the integrity and sustained certification of the SQF system
Responsible for reporting and taking any necessary action to prevent food safety and food quality problems from occurring
Responsible for following and enforcing procedures outlined in the Food Safety Plan and the Food Quality Plan and any other programs that support the SQF system and other 3rd party audits
Perform other tasks as assigned

Requirements:

2-5 years of Corporate Accounting Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
Strong understanding of GAAP principles
Strong in financial modeling skills in Excel and Accounting software
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
