Shipping Lead
We are currently looking to add a Shipping Lead for our growing team in Oceanside, CA. The ideal candidate will have cold storage, food manufacturing or grocery experience.
This position will be responsible for leading daily productivity for the shipping department including: ensuring all orders are pulled correctly, and oversee all employees training and scheduling. In addition this position is responsible for packing the flowers from the cooler and loading orders into the trucks. This position is also periodically responsible for assisting with duties normally completed by other departments when deemed necessary by Operations Managers.
Job Duties and
Responsibilities:
Assist Shipping Supervisor delegate workload.
Assist Shipping Supervisor train employees.
Assure orders and shipping quantities match picking documents through careful audit of the paperwork.
Assist in resolving any discrepancies regarding the shipping paperwork.
Verifies and keeps records of outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment.
Affixes shipping labels on racks for shipping destinations.
Ensure that drivers depart with appropriate racks of flower bouquets.
Clean work area to company standards at the end of work shift.
Typical Physical Demands:
Required prolonged standing, bending, or stooping. May require lifting up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to operate sharp cutting device known as Stem Cutters, and Flower Clippers. Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
Requires exposure to machines, chemicals, solvents and sharp cutting devices.
Must be able to work in a cold environment.
Typical Mental Demands:
Must understand vague and implicit instructions, and react favorably in all work situations. Must be mentally adaptable and flexible in dealing with a variety of people.
Requirements:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient computer skills: Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
Ability to organize work, time and self.
Attention to detail, accuracy, and the meeting of deadlines in a fast paced environment
Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with other Managers, Staff, and agencies.
Bilingual English/Spanish is a must.
Work a flexible schedule and overt time during peak seasonEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
