The ideal candidate would be someone who can thrive in a large non-profit company setting by rolling up their sleeves to get the job done!
This opportunity is located in the Southern Tier Region of NYS and is an immediate need. The position could be contract, contract-to-hire or direct hire depending on the candidates current employment status.
The HR Manager will be responsible for all human resource activities for a local, non-profit company with an employee base off 200
employees. It will provide employee relations, benefits administration and training for all employees and owners. This position is also responsible for coordination of recruitment efforts and for providing support and leadership to management to identify issues and resolve problems.
Primary function is to coordinate HR policies and programs with emphasis on the benefits and payroll areas, insuring that the organization is in full compliance with applicable laws and regulations. In addition, the position works closely developing, implementing and evaluating ongoing HR policies, programs, functions and activities.
Responsibilities:
Administer benefit programs to include analysis and serving as primary contract with providers (including group health and life), workers' compensation, unemployment and retirement plans.
Plan, direct, and supervise all activities relating to the administration and maintenance of payroll and employee benefit programs. Develop, implement, and control programs in a manner that ensures cost-effectiveness, market competitiveness, and internal equity among employees.
Assist the Director in the daily administration of other HR services as directed or assigned, including but not limited to recruitment and selection, promotions, transfers, contract negotiation and administration, affirmative action/EEO compliance, job classification, performance evaluation, and employee relations in accordance with quality management principles and overall objectives of the organization.
Develop, prepare, generate, and analyze ongoing and ad-hoc special reports pertaining to employee personnel information and data, including but not limited to issues such as benefit costs, staffing levels/deployment, turnover, absenteeism, recruitment, applicant tracking, Affirmative Action/EEO, compensation, promotions, etc. Effectively utilize the data processing system to obtain, store, and analyze pertinent data and information.
Maintain and expand knowledge and understanding of existing and proposed federal and state laws/regulations affecting human resources management. Identify trends that could impact organizational objectives and/or operational resources. Interpret appropriate laws and policies and advise management, employees, and retirees accordingly.
As directed, participate in the investigation and resolution of ongoing employee relations problems, anticipate problems whenever possible, and develop, recommend, and initiate appropriate steps for resolution.
Education &
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business or Human Resource Administration (or other relevant degree program) and/or equivalent experience
Five to ten years of progressively responsible human resources experience.
Proficient with the use of social media tools for sourcing candidates inclusive of LinkedIn, Company website, and industry/campus websites.
Current knowledge of all applicable employment laws
Proven ability to interact in timely, constructive/positive manner with employees and leadership team
PHR CertifiedEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
