Sr. Software Engineer, MicroStrategy Development & Administration (Arlington, VA) (multiple positions). Architect and develop technical solutions around MicroStrategy Business Intelligence (BI), Visual Insight, Data exploration, dashboarding and reporting. Serve as main platform administrator of MicroStrategy administrative tools. Establish and maintain enterprise guidelines for MicroStrategy platform reporting in multiple environments, create best practices for MicroStrategy report, document and dashboard creation, and serve as Expert in MicroStrategy BI development components Desktop designer, Web Reporter, Dashboard building, mobile application building, OLAP cube building/usage, Custom Groups, and Metrics. Lead team to create the MicroStrategy analytics environment reporting that will be built on the semantic layer on several existing star-schema data marts. Responsible for the requirement, design, development, QA and deployment SDLC cycles with a focus on BI technologies. Lead aspects of solutions and internal reporting applications to ensure consistency, quality, architectural integrity, scalability, and availability. Monitor, maintain, and optimize MicroStrategy platform architecture as well as MicroStrategy security. Participate in the full systems life cycle with solution design, development, implementation, and product support using scrum and other agile methodologies. Requires Masters degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field, and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or in a related business intelligence position utilizing MicroStrategy platform; or in the alternative a Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field, and five years (5) of experience in the job offered or in a related business intelligence position utilizing MicroStrategy platform. Must have two (2) years experience with: 1) MicroStrategy development and platform administration product components Enterprise Manager, Object Manager, Integrity Manager, Intelligent Server, Architect & Desktop designer, Web Reporter, Dashboard building, and mobile application building; 2) SDLC for large, high production impact systems; 3) Row-level, column-level, and object ACL data security maintenance in reporting environment; and 4) SQL including VLDB (very large database) settings, types of joins, and SQL passes.
