#2900 Electrical Energy Storage System Engineer (South Florida Area)
The role of the Electrical Energy Storage Systems Engineer will be responsible for assisting with all aspects of the conceptual and functional design, technical evaluation and due diligence process; including site evaluation, design review, production modeling and project optimization, for all Electrical Energy Storage systems under consideration for deployment.
Job Scope Support the early-stage engineering for utility battery storage in NextEra Energy, this is a temp position that needs to have electrical engineering background.
This position will report to the manager of early stage engineering and is focused on supporting energy storage project origination and development and ultimately maximizing project valuation.
Typical deliverables will include system and functional specifications, conceptual layouts, electrical schematics and site plans, battery specifications and parameters, performance and estimated life estimates, and other supporting detail as required.
Responsibilities and Duties Assist with all design and engineering functions, supporting projects from conception through construction completion and financial closing.
Create conceptual designs in support of project origination and development based on varying functional, technical and financial inputs which may be verbal or require interpretation of market or RFP documents.
Generate Generate performance estimates and lifetime estimates using MATLAB (or an equivalent modeling software), including battery cycling and reliability evaluation and validation.
Estimate battery degradation and lifetime estimates based on modeling the expected cycling and.
Coordinate the application for and completion of project interconnection.
Review of design documents from outside parties to confirm compliance and appropriateness.
Management and development of consultant engineering.
Responsible for planning and organizing an engineering project and the application of complex engineering skills requiring advanced knowledge.
May supervise a small group of engineering professionals as a project leader.
Makes independent decisions which are not regularly subject to technical review.
Requires ( Requires) at least 10 years of experience and a B.
S.
in Engineering.
Professional Engineering certification strongly ( preferred).
