Product Line Manager

The Product Line Manager (PLM) for Whole Grain Nutrition is a critical role to the growth of Company, driven through a category of products that cuts across a range of manufacturing facilities. Those products include whole grain flours, grain inclusion blends, sprouted grains and flours.
The PLM will manage this group of products at various stages of maturity in lifecycle, optimizing revenues and profits from them. The PLM will set strategic direction for this product line and work cross-functionally to ensure production, pricing, promotion and development are aligned with customers to achieve profitability and growth targets. Success of this role will be measured by the ability to meet these financial goals.
This role will interact closely with Marketing Communications and Product Applications team members as well as Sales, Supply chain and Operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
o Develops in-depth knowledge and understanding of existing whole grain nutrition product line: o Supply chain from field to factory
o Production facilities and processes
o Functionality in food applications
o Nutritional and flavor attributes
o Competitive status

o Develops a growth strategy for the whole grain nutrition product portfolio.
o Provides guidance to Product Applications for concept development.
o Develops and executes training programs with Sales teams.
o Facilitates and participates in customer meetings and presentations.
o Collaborates with Marketing on communication and promotion planning.
o Contributes to forward innovation planning to grow the product line.
o Manages product lifecycle of products through renovation and market positioning.
o Achieves agreed upon financial goals for profit growth from the product line.
o 30-40% Travel required.
QUALIFICATIONS
o Strategic and forward thinking skills.
o Knowledge of the grain-based foods industry and players within including customers and competitors.
o Interest and understanding of foods, ingredients and their contributions to the consumer experience.
o Ability to leverage trends into viable product opportunities.
o Ability to develop market potential targets for specific products and opportunities and to measure financial contributions and costs against those targets.
o Ability to influence cross functional team members from supply chain, sales, and operations to execute on developed strategies.
o Ability to understand customer needs, align with products and engage in influential discussions.
o A balance of analytical and creative thinking preferences.
o A passion to win and desire to grow.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
o B.S degree in business or marketing.
o 7
Experience with food ingredients manufacturer(s).
o Experience as, or exposure to, ingredients product management.
o Experience with, or exposure to, agricultural products.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
