Summary:Responsible for providing clinical psychotherapy and evaluation services to patients to promote optimal individual, interpersonal and social functioning. Promotes patient s continued well being through direct psychological services as determined by Clinical Program Director. Collaborates with other community providers as appropriate.

Responsibilities:
May be required to perform duties of lesser, equal or greater responsibility.
Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
1. Clinical expertise in psychotherapeutic process, transference and counter transference dynamic, crisis intervention, skills in working with the chronically mentally ill population as well as with individuals and families undergoing acute episodes of psychiatric distress; skills in diagnosis and assessment in an outpatient setting.
2. Competency in the autonomous delivery of child and family psychological and developmental diagnostic evaluations and psychotherapeutic treatment in an outpatient setting.
3. Ability to work as part of a comprehensive community mental health team and to represent the Retreat in the community.
4. Familiar with community support systems, health care and human service resources, courts and police, etc.
5. Good organizational skills and administrative abilities.
6. Flexibility in days and hours available for scheduled work.
7. Knowledge of and ability to adhere to the professional code of ethics and the state mental health code.
Qualifications:
1. Master s degree in a mental health discipline. MSW preferred. Must be licensed with 3rdparty reimbursable approval.
2. At least three years of experience providing direct clinical care as a psychotherapist.
3. At least three years of professional experience in mental health or human services, preferably in an outpatient setting.
