Location:Ames - Repair Shop
Duties for this position include diagnosis and repair to engines, transmissions, differentials, transfer cases, and final drives. Such tasks are performed on a variety of equipment including agricultural tractors, motor graders, crawlers, loaders, hydraulic excavators, medium duty trucks, and heavy duty trucks. This position will require travel and be subject to overnight stays. Must be able to work out of doors in inclement weather. The ability to repair hydraulic components and fabrication skills would be beneficial. Electrical skills and generator service experience are very desirable.
Lifting:Ability to perform heavy work, occasionally (1-33% of the time) lifting/lowering, carrying and pushing/pulling various items/using force from 50 - 100 lbs. Team lift or mechanical assist recommended for weights over 75 lbs.
License:Must possess a valid Commercial Driver's License Instruction Permit upon hire. Within 14 calendar days following appointment, a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License with air brakes and tanker endorsements must be obtained in order to continue employment.
Additional Requirements:In conjunction with Title 49 of the Code of Federal Regulations (parts 391 &40), this job requires a pre-employment drug screen and will require ongoing participation in the employer's random drug and alcohol testing program. Prior to starting employment all persons are required to have a post offer, pre-employment physical verifying the physical ability to perform the duties described. Shift Days; Monday through Friday.
