Our Client needs a Sr. AS/400 Operator for a 6
month Contract job near La Habra, CA.

Purpose of the Job:
Plans, coordinates and leads operational tasks and projects, operates Enterprise computer systems and peripheral equipment to process data. Provides user and technical support with the highest degree of customer service. The Technical support consists of laptops and desktops refresh and trouble shooting, software installation, printer installation and troubleshooting, Lync phones (VOIP), phone/voice mail configuration, mobile devices support and connectivity that include (iPhones, tablets, iPad) and the administration of accounts that include creation and rights, network access, email and share folders access to locations This position is a 4X10 work schedule that will include working on a Saturday or Sunday.
MAJOR DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Works with the operations team in accomplishing day-to-day tasks/assignments and long-term goals consistent with the Company's vision.
Responsible for the daily review of reports and completion of the Enterprise backups, makes sure that action is taken with the tapein/tapeout reports, that scratch tapes are available at all times, that all tapes are labeled and ready to be send to offsite vaulting. Refresh data on DEV/QA environments from Production on nightly basis.
Creates and maintains logical and organized technical documentation and operating procedures.
Provides support to end users on a variety of issues. Issues are reported via the Telephone, or Email, with telephone being the primary method. Excellent communications skills are a must. Responsible for recognizing, researching, isolating and resolving information system problems. Performs problem determination, diagnosis and resolution by identifying hardware and software problems and potential solutions for PC's, software, peripheral equipment (printers, faxes, etc.) and telecommunication devices (Phones, Cellphones). Researches unknown issues for potential resolutions through online resources and thru cross-training with other ITS groups.
Provides instructions and staff training plans for new and current staff on proper operation of systems and hardware.
Assist in install and de-install of hardware in the computer room and necessary cabling as requested.
Review shift logs and creates a summary report of all activities and issues for OPS Management morning meeting.
Works on tickets that may include Installs, configure and implement software as requested by a project and/or service request. Tickets may include reported user problems.
Responsible for pro-active monitoring of the Enterprise systems, alerts and communicates to the technical teams any high resources usage, traffic levels and application performance issues.
Rotate weekend on-call duty using laptop & cell phone to monitor all systems and support our users.
EDUCATION AND
Experience:
Associates degree or equivalent experience.
Minimum 5 years related experience in operations in a multi-platform environment primarily iSeries (AS400) to include Unix, Linux and Windows platforms.
Demonstrated working knowledge with monitoring tools and hardware partitioning.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret technical documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedural manuals.
Proven analytical and troubleshooting skills with strong follow-up.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong user support and problem solving skills.
Able to stay detail-oriented in a fast-paced setting and adapt to changing priorities.
Under minimal supervision, be able to follow written and oral instructions.
Must have a good solid computer operations background and an overall understanding of multiple computer platform environments primarily iSeries (AS400) to include Unix, Linux and Windows platforms. Experience supporting users in a helpdesk setting that includes PC's, software installs, and network connectivity issues.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
