Our IT division consists of a state-of-the-art data center located in Greenville, NC. The data center services all information technology needs of Vidant Health facilities. Vidant Health has been recognized as one of the 100 Most Wired healthcare organizations by Hospitals and Health Networks magazine. All Vidant Health owned or leased hospitals are on a common IT platform, including our electronic health record (EHR) that uses Epic's suite of applications. Vidant Health has achieved Meaningful Use Stage 1 recognition and is also approaching Stage 7 for HIMSS Analytics' Electronic Medical Records Adoption Model (EMRAM) recognition.
Responsibilities
The Director of Planning & Program Management requires a seasoned IT professional who has significant experience in project management methodology, portfolio management, long term planning, budget planning, and business relationship management. This professional is result oriented, multi-disciplined, and comfortable in translating business needs into complex IT strategies. This position is accountable for developing and implementing programs for alignment of IT and business priorities to drive prioritization and mature the ROI and business acumen of the organization. This position will lead multiple and large cross-functional projects as an Program management expert to ensure projects are aligned with the company strategy and provide strong project management leadership to assure solutions are technically sound, driven for results and align appropriately with business need. This position acts as a consultant to senior leaders in the organization and must possess the ability to engage in effective communications. The position must also be adept at presenting data and information in a meaningful and insightful manner. The Director of Planning & Program Management manages 2 management positions; Business Relationship Management and Program Management. The Director reports to the AVP of Strategy and Planning.
Planning & Program Management. Demonstrates a commitment to supporting the business needs of Vidant Health by collaborating with business stakeholders and IS Leaders to lead the development and support of program planning for current and future IT initiatives to support Vidant's many operational areas
Strategic and Tactical IS Support. Demonstrates a commitment to supporting the business needs of Vidant Health by collaborating with business stakeholders in the selection and implementation of new technologies and adaptation of existing systems.
Service Delivery. Demonstrates a commitment to customer service by providing responsive and effective support, developing solid working relationships with end user customers, and delivering high quality, value-added services that exceed customer expectations.
Talent Management. Demonstrates a commitment to employee professional development by providing opportunities for assuming new and varied responsibilities, training and development, and coaching and mentoring by management and staff.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree is required. Master's degree is strongly desired. Prefered degree areas; business, healthcare administration, computer technology , or information management
Certification is strongly desired. PMI PMP, Project Management Professional is preferred.
10 to 15 years of experience in an IS management with a strong operational background and proven track record of accomplishments in Information Services within a large, complex, multi-location organization.
Demonstrated track record implementing and successfully managing a mission critical IS production environment with multiple stakeholders in a multi-entity, geographically diverse organization.
Seasoned professional with at least 5 years health care provider experience that has a deep understanding of health care operations as well as the current business issues and trends influencing health care providers.
Focused experience in Business Engagement Models, Project Methodologies and Program Management program development.
