This position will be actively engaged in Repsol's oil development projects on the North Slope of Alaska. This position is a critical member of a multi-disciplined team of engineers and geoscientists that engage in ongoing characterization and exploitation of Repsol's Alaska North Slope assets.
Providing geophysical interpretations of multi-horizon fields, working closely with multi-discipline team and incorporating offset well data, geologic models, seismic information, petrophysical data and engineering data.
o Generating structural and stratigraphic interpretations.
o Evaluating the hydrocarbon potential using multidisciplinary approach (seismic, wells, etc.).
Identifying and planning development well locations, and incorporating results into interpretations.
o Includes location optimization, working with drilling and operations on well design and logging program, communicating with the development team during drilling, updating correlations and interpretations, etc.
Interacting with exploration team to transition projects from exploration/appraisal phase to development.
Evaluating appropriate geophysical techniques and applications for project and reservoir characterization for the company's potential and current assets.
Providing geophysical inputs for building geo-cellular models at well pattern and field level.
Representing the team in partner meetings, peer reviews and management meetings as required to support decision making.
Performing uncertainty and risk analysis of investment opportunities.
Technical focus on the interpretation of rock properties, log data and seismic data, reservoir characterization through quantitative inversion processes and prospect evaluation using seismic and non-seismic techniques.
Supporting evaluation and recommendation of reserves under SEC and PRMS guidelines to management and internal/external reserve auditors.
Required
Qualifications:
The legal authorization to work in the US for anyone other than current employer.
Master's degree or higher in Geosciences with an emphasis on geophysics.

o A Bachelor's degree with strong relevant experience will be considered.

years relevant geophysical experience incorporating advanced evaluation techniques.
Experience with seismic calibration, quantitative interpretation studies and techniques, seismic inversion, attribute techniques, and the use of rock property and quantitative interpretation software.
High motivation, pragmatism and flexibility to adapt work practices to meet aggressive project timelines providing high quality work products.
The willingness and ability to support the development of less experienced team members.
The willingness and ability to travel up to 10% of the time in order to fulfill the responsibilities of this position, including travel to field and wellsite.
Excellent written & verbal communication skills, with specific ability to translate complex information into an organized & presentable manner.

Preferred
Qualifications:
Experience with Alaska North Slope reservoirs, or Cretaceous Jurassic geology and/or reservoirs requiring EOR.
Skilled user of Geoframe and Paradigm seismic interpretation software tools.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
