Job Summary The purpose of this position is to structure and manage all route and fleet operations for an Angelica service center. The Service Manager is responsible for supervision of drivers and the fleet, establishment of routes, and ensuring effective customer service. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities o Promote safety and compliance with all Angelica policies and procedures along with all Federal and State laws (5%) o Maintain constant contact with drivers, service center and office management staff, and customers to assess and improve service (30%) o Manage and train drivers to meet operating and customer satisfaction objectives (30%) o Manage and train loaders/un-loaders and scale operators to ensure timely accurate delivered orders to customers (5%) o Support company initiatives which include, but are not limited to, safety programs, GPS and camera systems (5%) o Develop and consistently evaluate route structure to optimize customer service and controlled distribution expense as a percentage of revenue (2%) o Direct fleet management activities including driver and vehicle records, delivery documentation, truck maintenance, and costs (5%) o Measure and document customer satisfaction issues related to delivery of materials, and report to upper management (5%) o Manage costs according to budget (5%) o Monitor data on product tracking, route analysis, rerouting, costing and usage alternatives and provide reports to the Market Operations & Delivery Director or Director of Logistics (5%) o Lead compliance to Federal and State DOT regulations and company and insurance carrier policies and directives (1%) o Structure documentation of delivery of and receipt of materials (2%) Additional Responsibilities o May be needed to substitute for drivers and participate in delivery and pick-up of materials o Interview and hire qualified Route Service Representatives (RSRs) and Linen Distribution associates Supervisory Responsibilities This position manages Lead or Route Supervisors, and indirectly manages Route Service Representatives within a particular geographic region. The Service Manager is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these employees. Travel Required The Service Manager position requires 10-20% travel. This position primarily exists within an office environment, with frequent time outside of the office at customer locations, possibly in trucks. Employees are responsible for creating and submitting expense reports each week for expenditures incurred during travel.
Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications o B.A. or B.S. degree in business, logistics, operations, engineering or marketing or equivalent experience o 5-10 years of experience o Knowledge of transportation/distribution, including regulatory requirements relating to drivers and vehicles o Experience with GPS systems o Experience with Routing systems o Good human relations skills to work with subordinates, peer managers, sales personnel, and customers o Experience with Unions Preferred Qualifications o Previous supervisory experience o Bilingual in Spanish o Class A license Work Environment The working environment is indoors and is seasonally heated and cooled with minimal noise levels. The position requires considerable sitting, typing and the ability to occasionally move heavy carts and handle linen (clean and soiled). The position requires the ability to communicate in person, telephonically and via email. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
