Current Need
Reporting to the Vice President Operations at McKesson Technology Solutions (MTS), the Director Operations will be part of an internal consulting team responsible for successfully leading strategic initiatives and projects across MTS, including those originating from McKesson Headquarters. Position will focus primarily on leading strategic, cross-business unit projects based upon business priority. Position will also be responsible for building capability offerings, achieving significant financial, operational, customer satisfaction, and/or employee satisfaction impacts. Position will directly manage multiple projects as needed, including: strategy, complex project plan development, coordination of project team deliverables, testing, and implementation. Where required, the position will also provide dotted line management to multiple program and project team members who are senior in rank including Directors, Senior Directors, and VPs. Position will also be responsible for ensuring a seamless execution of complex, cross-functional implementations including issue management, escalation, management communications, KPI tracking and reporting and facilitating consensus across multiple executive stakeholders, delivering high impact project outcomes.
Position Description
Project Management -
Provide overarching program guidance, structure and leadership for large programs; act as indirect leader and mobilize project team members who may be senior in rank
Lead project work streams across various stages of the project lifecycle
Drive decisions and consensus with VP, Sr. Director stakeholders, including BU Presidents and Functional Executives
Be highly organized and able to meet task timelines to realize project benefits
Deliver results that achieve or surpass projects targets based on compliance, ROI, or customer impact objectives
Business Analysis -
Engage with Business Unit and Functional teams to understand complex requirements and impact to MTS business processes, product portfolio, and programs
Identify business problems, structure a problem-solving approach and gather data to assess improvement opportunities
Synthesize analysis results (e.g., current state analysis) and design data supported improvement recommendations
Change Management and Communications -
Design and deploy change management strategies to support successful project deployments
Communicate effectively to and influence stakeholders of all levels
Develop and maintain productive relationships at multiple levels
Act as a thought leader and internal expert for program management
Minimum Requirements
8
years experience in designing, building, and implementing business solutions. Significant experience in project management.
Additional Knowledge & Skills
Minimum 10
years of project management, management consulting, organizational change, and/or process improvement experience with leading companies. Leadership experience in a matrix model preferred.
Expertise with problem solving methodologies, root cause analysis and process improvement frameworks.
Demonstrated ability to manage indirect teams, including members who may be senior in rank
Demonstrated ability to understand complex business problems and create a program to support solutions and compliance
Possess client interfacing skills enabling direct, independent engagement with senior executives.
Demonstrated ability to think strategically and comfort with financial statements
Demonstrated capacity to become expert in new topics and disciplines quickly
Self-starter attitude with the ability to excel in dynamic work environment
Strong communication (listening, oral and written) and facilitation skill set
Proven track record of project management success
Strong executive presentation skill set, including ability to develop and deliver executive-level presentations
Proven track record of results from the application of process improvement methodologies and effective change management
Experience in change management consulting delivery and leadership strongly preferred
Demonstrated ability to motivate, influence and gain commitment from project and Sr. level stakeholders
Experience in a health care services (distribution, technology, or services) environment preferred
PC Skills: Expertise in Microsoft Office Tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio), Statistics Applications, a plus
Education
BA/ BS required, preferably in a business or technical discipline
MBA or relevant graduate degree preferred
Certifications/Licensure
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification highly desirable
Travel Requirements
Approximately 50%. Some projects may require more than 50% travel at times.
