Position Summary
The position will have an academic appointment in the Division of Pharmacotherapy and Experimental Therapeutics and will participate in a NIH-funded research program to study the hepatic disposition of xenobiotics utilizing in vitro model systems, regulation/trafficking of transport proteins, and cellular/molecular mechanisms responsible for hepatic structure and function. Duties will include, but are not limited to: Conducting in vitro cell culture experiments using siRNA based gene knock-down, Western Blotting, cloning and mutagenesis, immunohistochemical imaging and live cell imaging, maintaining the laboratory's animal care and use and radiation safety records in accordance with institutional, state, and federal guidelines.
Educational Requirements
PHD or other relevant doctoral degree in the Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmacology, Toxicology, or a closely related
discipline.
Qualifications and Experience
A strong background in molecular biology, biochemistry and cell culture techniques including siRNA based gene knock-down, Western Blotting, cloning and mutagenesis, immunohistochemical imaging, and live cell imaging, as well as knowledge of pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic principles is required. The ideal candidate will have experience studying the function of transport proteins.
