Technical Accounting Analyst
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES :
The Technical Accounting Analyst will be responsible for various financial accounting and reporting requirements, including:
Supporting complex accounting areas including technical guidance application and implementation
Areas of responsibility may include, but are not limited to, hedging, pension, investments in unconsolidated subsidiaries, leases, and business combinations
Managing external audit data requests
Preparing technical accounting white paper position papers
Preparing quarterly/annual SEC filings 10Q and 10K footnote disclosures for areas of responsibility
Performing quarterly balance sheet and income statement fluctuation analysis process for areas of responsibility
Supporting other technical accounting projects as required
Reviewing technical accounting position papers prepared by subsidiary finance teams
Requirements
YEARS EXPERIENCE : 3-5 years related experience
DEGREE STRONGLY PREFERRED : Bachelor's degree with concentration in accounting; CPA is preferred .
DESIRED COMPETENCIES/
Experience: Must be self-starter and quick learner with the ability to work effectively within a team setting. Flexibility in work schedule is necessary to accommodate periods of high volume workload. In addition to strong accounting skills the successful candidate will need to demonstrate effective interpersonal, organizational, documentation and research capabilities. Advanced skill level in Excel or Access along with financial reporting systems such as Hyperion Financial Management is highly preferred. Must show aptitude to learn new systems quickly.
