General Summary of Duties:
Under general direction, performs routine maintenance and repairs to the medical center grounds, buildings, and mechanical/electrical equipment, including the heating and cooling units and systems in accordance with manufacturer's specifications. Performs a variety of general mechanical and preventative maintenance tasks as well as inspections, servicing, and repairs as assigned.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
1. Responds to reported problems, assesses and takes action to remedy. Consults with and keeps supervisor informed of activities, needs, and problems.
2. Monitors mechanical equipment and maintaining through repairs, cleaning, and lubrication.
3. Performs general electrical repairs (e.g. replace faulty switches, rewires electrical appliances, and replaces defective electrical devices).
4. Performs basic plumbing repairs (e.g. replace defective plumbing systems including but not limited to faucets, toilets, hot water tanks, and sump pumps).
5. Performs general building maintenance to common areas (e.g. roof repairs, baseboards, windows, doors, and walls).
6. Cleans coils, air handling equipment, grease traps, and other equipment as instructed and trained.
7. Monitors temperature and humidity of entire complex via daily round reports and building automation system.
8. Performs preventative maintenance as assigned according to procedures and maintains appropriate records.
9. Ensures the plant is continuously maintained in a clean and safe state.
10. Performs preventive maintenance procedures and maintains appropriate records as assigned.
11. Displays competency and performs duties of all levels and types
12. Participates in team efforts to accomplish needed tasks.
13. Requisitions supplies as needed and picks up needed materials when approved.
14. Removes snow and ice on sidewalks, driveways, and parking lots.
15. Performs daily rounds of assigned zones and maintains any associated records.
16. Provides assistance to Stationary Engineers and Master Mechanics, and performs other duties as assigned.
17. Responds to emergencies within the complex, following appropriate procedures/protocol.

1. Maintains established department/hospital policies, procedures, protocols, directives, quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control standards appropriate to this position.

Provides service to patients/customers in the following age categories:
Neonatal Pediatric Adolescent Adult Geriatric
Age specific duties:
1. Follows age specific needs as requested by clinical departments.
Relationships and Key Contacts:
1. Supervised by: Director and/or Lead Person
2. Key Internal Contacts: Frequent contact with Leadership of Facilities and departmental
staff. Occasional contact with staff and leadership of other departments.
3. Key External Contacts: Occasional contact with city/state/federal inspectors and outside vendors.
Minimum Acceptable
Qualifications:
1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
2. Ability to follow written or oral instructions.
Language: Ability to speak and write English to the extent necessary for safe and efficient performance of the job.
Physical, Mental, Environmental Demands:
