POSITION
Summary:
For more than 100 years, Purina has been revolutionizing pet food production, and its ability to enrich the lives of pets everywhere. By 1956, mastering new production techniques, we literally reshaped pet care, introducing Dog Chow as the first extruded dry food. We re still at it today, with Tidy Cats , the lightweight cat litter champion of the world and the leader in our category. Such leadership requires constant innovation and renovation, which is so often rooted in our world-class food production standards.
Our factory in Crete, NE is one of the largest wet pet food manufacturing facilities in the U.S. as a mass producer of over three million cans of wet pet food per day, which include our Alpo , Purina ONE , Pro Plan , Friskies and Purina Veterinary Diets brands. With the city of Lincoln just 25 miles from the plant, many of our associates find convenience in larger-city living in Lincoln and embrace the short commute to the quainter city of Crete.
We are a safety first culture! The Maintenance Team Leader supervises and develops team members in maintenance on off-shifts, with the flexibility to rotate weekends as needed. From you, this position requires strong leadership skills and knowledge of the maintenance concepts. The Maintenance Team Leader must mentor staff, contribute to continuous process improvement and ensure that proper sanitation and safety guidelines are being met.
PRIMARY
Responsibilities:
1. Safety -Adheres to and enforces Nestle Purina Safety, Health and Environmental guidelines. Perform Behavioral Based Safety observations
2. Supervision - Technical and leadership guidance; work scheduling, resource planning and maintenance shutdown activities; issue resolution (personnel, mechanical, operational); provide downtime coverage of maintenance personnel and contractors (weekend and major maintenance)
3. Data Management
Use resource planning systems (SAP/AMM) to prepare necessary data for Nestle Continuous Excellence meetings
Part-room inventory variances, etc.
Payroll Management using Kronos
4. Sanitation & Quality - Use NQMS procedures to enforce sanitation and quality standards. Perform audits.
Skills: People management in Union environment a plus. Must have strong communication, computer, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Should enjoy working in a team environment and demonstrate initiative and positive attitude.
Perform all other duties as assigned
