We are seeking a Manager, Strategic Alliance Divisional Sales Support-Brighton, MI for our North America Import and Commodity department (this position will cover the east side of Michigan inclusive of Saginaw, Gaylord and Northern Michigan) . As a Manager, Strategic Alliance Divisional Sales Support you will execute strategic sales and marketing initiatives to achieve volume and profit targets in support of sales goals and marketing plans as defined by Limson, NATL and Davis Creek Meats & Seafood.
Essential Functions include:
Interfaces and collaborates with GFS internal and external customers' vendors to achieve sales and margin goals.
Provides consultative services and product expertise to GFS Product Specialists and Sales Teams.
Analyze relevant reporting to drive effective decisions and achieve sales and margin goals.
Develop action plans to achieve Strategic Alliance goals for assigned regions.
Develop and utilizes existing training modules to plan and execute sales product training.
Analyze sales reports, market trends and forecasts to identify segments and account targets. Identify and present product and product trend information to internal and external customers.
Develop relationships with key internal and external customers supplying product expertise and market intelligence.
Provide problem analysis and resolution to Product Specialists, CDSs and customers on product related concerns.
Collaborates with Regional Chain Accounts to appropriately manage proprietary items.
Participate in the planning and execution of food shows, other related shows, and training events.
Attends appropriate GFS leadership meetings to identify opportunities for training and planning.
Provides input in and the creation of Divisional marketing plans and promotions.
Adheres to the Mission and Cornerstone Values and applicable practices of the organization.
Maintains knowledge of current developments in the field by reading appropriate books, journals and other literature and attending related conferences, seminars, etc. Maintains peer relationships in the field to share issues and ideas.
Position requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Sales, Marketing or other related field.
Two years previous product, marketing or internal sales experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
This position requires excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, and resource and time management skills.
Must have detailed knowledge of product and market trends and the link to business goals.
Must be able to work collaboratively with a variety of teams and individual CDS and be able to prioritize and schedule and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Observes legal and safety procedures.
Develops solutions to a variety of complex problems.
Knowledge of spreadsheets, word processing, E-mail and Internet software applications.
