The Human Resources Generalist is primarily responsible for the coordination and administration of the following human resource functions: recruiting, benefit administration, employee functions and administrative functions.
Coordinate recruiting efforts at job fairs, IA workforce, newspapers, colleges, and other areas. Develops position advertisements for external publications.
Screens, applicants for hourly positions against established selection criterion and determines qualified candidates
Administers testing for hourly position interviews.
Interview candidates along with tracking applicants through the testing and interview process.
Coordinates physical/drug testing dates for all employees. Conduct background checks and reference checks.
Maintains log for applicants for AAP purposes.
Coordinates orientation activities including training employees.
Coordinates and works with Benefits Manager on Short Term and Long Term Disability programs/services for active and terminated employees.
Works with employees on benefits claims issues and questions while working closely with the Benefits Manager in Bannockburn.
Answers questions regarding benefits or their administration. Keeps up to date on all changes to the program and proactive in communication of any issues with benefits.
Lead wellness initiatives and coordinates wellness fair.
Complete any environmental tasks as assigned and report environmental concerns immediately.
Maintains HRIS System along with collaborating monthly data (headcount, turnover, training, etc.).
Maintains employee files including an individual's personnel, safety, and confidential file, as well as I-9 and payroll files.
Build strong working relationships with all employees.
Administers hourly payroll and works closly with Payroll department in Bannockburn on all payroll questions.
A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or a related field and 3-5 years' experience in human resources is required. A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required. Working knowledge of employment law is required.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
