The University of Oregon College of Education invites applications for a full-time Office Specialist 2 in the Communication Disorders and Sciences Program.
This is a classified position represented by SEIU local 503, Oregon Public Employees Union.

### TO QUALIFY YOU MUST HAVE:
two years of general clerical experience, one year of which included typing, word processing, or other experience generating documents; OR
an associate's degree in Office Occupations or Office Technology; OR
graduation from a private school of business with a Certificate in Office Occupations or Office Technology and one year of general clerical experience.
Other Required
Qualifications:
Experience with word-processing, spreadsheet, and database computer applications.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Communicate effectively and sensitively with and support a culturally diverse student body, faculty, and staff and must demonstrate a commitment to treating others with respect.
Strong writing, proofreading, and editing skills.
Excellent customer service skills.
Ability to work independently, prioritize workload, track and follow-through on work in a timely manner in an environment with frequent interruptions.
Strong attention to detail.

### DUTIES &
Responsibilities:
This position provides administrative support for faculty, staff, and students. Duties include
providing information and answering questions about admissions and program requirements; coordinating graduate application process, including receiving application materials and compiling in a database; notifying applicants of admission decisions; maintaining graduate student files and tracking progress toward meeting graduation requirements; disseminating information to students concerning course requirements, class scheduling, program progress, and changes to program requirements; assisting in developing publications related to program recruiting and admissions process for graduate applicants, including designing program brochures and maintaining department website; serving as liaison with program with other university departments, such as Admissions, Registrar's Office, and Graduate School.
providing undergraduate program support, including assisting students with authorization protocols and procedures; maintaining student files and database; informing students about academic progress and completion of degree requirements; maintaining and disseminating information about degree and graduation requirements.
providing faculty support, including attending general faculty meetings and taking meeting minutes; keeping faculty informed of policies and procedures affecting the program; tracking program curriculum, preparing change documents, catalog and time schedule copy; advising faculty in course scheduling needs, course sequencing, and schedule conflicts; assisting in resolving registration problems; reserving instructional equipment.
performing office support functions, including answering the telephone and greeting visitors; answering questions and providing general program information via mail, Internet, telephone, e-mail, or in-person; compiling and preparing data for annual accreditation reports; maintaining files, forms, and records; maintaining department student information database.

2. This position performs projects which require organization and analytical skills. The person in this position will coordinate course scheduling and provide instructional support, including coordinating course registration, scheduling classrooms, and preparing reports. Describe experience that demonstrates your ability to track complex administrative data, balance competing demands and complete analytical projects under a deadline.
3. The workstation for this position is located in a public, interruption-prone space. The person in this position must be able to juggle multiple projects and deadlines while encountering frequent interruptions and distractions. Please describe the strategies you would use to work in this type of environment.
4. Please indicate the software with which you are proficient. Describe your experience word processing documents, preparing statistical reports, building and maintaining databases and spreadsheets and updating web pages.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
