Job Details:
Responsible for complete operation of the switchboard, emergency alarms and paging system. Responds to emergency calls for physicians and medical floors, maintaining records of who is on-call for all specialties and how they are to be reached on a daily basis. Channel all incoming calls, provides direct numbers as required. Connect inside callers with outgoing lines when appropriate, maintains long distance outgoing call log. Interact with patients and vistors at the main information desk. High school diploma or equivalent/ One year experience operating a switchboard in a health care institution preferred. Good interpersonal skills. Accesses computer for information on patients, screening calls to floors and patient rooms as requested and this is performed using a Amcom Intellidesk application.
Various shift availability needed. Must be flexible.
This position will cover for both Melrose Wakefield Hospital and Lawrence Memorial Hospital of Medford as needed and must be able to travel to both. Holiday coverage is also expected.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
